Boarding of animals is a service we can provide for our clients. We have
limited facilities available so you will need to make reservations in advance for this service. Pets will need to be
current on their vaccinations in order to be admitted for boarding. In the event that your pet becomes ill while boarding,
we will provide necessary treatment. Please call our office for full details and to schedule your pet for boarding.
To keep your pet protected, we require all pets be current with their vaccinations when admitted
to the hospital. If due, the vaccinations will be given in order to insure the protection from contagious and often fatal
disease. Any animal that is admitted to the clinic and found to have fleas will be treated
and the owner will be charged for the medication.
We welcome your calls about the status
of your pet while in the clinic for surgery or treatment. If your pet is admitted and staying over night we ask that you call
after 9:00 am for a progress report. If your pet is admitted for the day for a surgery or procedure, please call after 1pm
for a progress report.
For the safety of you, your pet, and others in the office, we request
that your pet be on a leash or in a pet carrier. Your cooperation is appreciated.
When your pet is released from the hospital we will give you specific
instructions about their care at home. If they have had a procedure involving anesthesia, do not feed them any food
until the next morning. This will help prevent them from vomiting at home. Make sure they have plenty of
fresh water and feed them a regular meal the next day. Most pets will continue at home with their regular diet.
If a special diet is needed, or if food needs to be softened we will let you know.
Surgery patients should have limited activity for several days. Watch them so they
do not run & jump and tear out stitches. In addition, do not let them lick their sutures or surgery site.
This will delay healing and may cause infection. If you have problems with this please contact the office for further instructions.
Any questions you have about your pet or about their healing process please call the office. We can
always check a surgery site to make sure it is healing properly.
In our office we have found that the majority of our sick patients could
have been spared their illness through regular preventative health procedures . Along with the knowledge that you are giving your pet adequate care,
you will find that the costs for prevention are much less than the costs of treatment. Ask us about planning a preventative
health program for your pet.
If you have any questions about what you have read,
please ask us.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.
